Protection, delivered by people who were forged for it

Eight disciplines. One standard. Every service below is planned by experienced security professionals and delivered by fully cleared former Garud commandos who operate within the law of each jurisdiction — prevention first, proportion always.

Executive Close Protection

Close protection is the discipline of keeping a person safe while allowing them to live and work normally. For a chief executive visiting three cities in four days, a family relocating to an unfamiliar country or a public figure attending a crowded event, the risk is rarely a dramatic attack — it is more often a road accident, a medical emergency, a hostile crowd, theft of sensitive information or a persistent stalker. Effective protection addresses all of them.

Our protection officers work from a written protection plan built on a threat assessment of the principal, their itinerary and their public profile. Advance work — visiting venues, timing routes, identifying the nearest trauma hospital and safe havens — happens before the principal arrives. On the ground, the detail keeps a low profile, manages movement, maintains communications and makes the countless small decisions that turn potential problems into non-events.

What we deliver

  • Protective threat assessment & written protection plan
  • Advance reconnaissance of venues, hotels and routes
  • Personal protection officers & team leaders
  • Residential security and secure transport coordination
  • Medical contingency with trained first responders
  • Discreet protection for families and children
02

Self-Defence & Combatives Training

Most self-defence courses teach techniques. Ours teach survival. The difference lies in how people actually behave under stress: heart rate climbs, fine motor skills degrade, vision narrows and complex moves are forgotten. Garud-trained instructors understand this from experience, so our programmes focus on awareness, avoidance, verbal de-escalation, simple gross-motor techniques and — above all — escape.

Programmes are tailored for corporate teams, women's safety groups, schools and universities, healthcare workers who face aggression on the ward, and security staff who need lawful restraint skills. Sessions are scenario-based and progressive, with an emphasis on confidence and safety rather than aggression, and every course includes guidance on the legal principles of reasonable self-defence.

What we deliver

  • Situational awareness & personal safety workshops
  • Women's self-defence programmes
  • Workplace violence prevention & de-escalation
  • Campus and school safety training
  • Lawful restraint for security personnel
  • Instructor development for in-house trainers

Aviation & Airfield Security Consulting

Airfields are where Garud operators learned their craft. The Garud force was created to protect air bases — long perimeters, complex access points, high-value aircraft and constant movement of people and vehicles. That environment has direct parallels in commercial airports, private aviation terminals, flying schools, maintenance hangars and helipads.

Our aviation specialists review perimeter integrity, access control, vehicle screening, airside patrol patterns, insider-threat controls and incident response. Recommendations are practical and prioritised, and always aligned to the applicable civil aviation security regulations of the country concerned. We complement — never replace — the statutory authorities responsible for aviation security.

What we deliver

  • Perimeter and access-control vulnerability surveys
  • Private aviation & FBO security programmes
  • Aircraft and hangar protection plans
  • Insider-threat awareness training
  • Emergency and contingency exercise design
04

Critical Infrastructure Protection

Power plants, fuel depots, logistics hubs, telecom towers, data centres and industrial facilities share one feature: disruption at a single site can affect thousands of people. Protecting them requires layered security — deterrence, detection, delay and response — coordinated with local authorities and emergency services.

We conduct site security surveys, design guard force structures and patrol regimes, train site personnel, and help operators build response plans for intrusion, sabotage, theft, protest and natural hazards. Our reports translate findings into clear priorities that operations and finance teams can act on.

What we deliver

  • Site security surveys & layered defence design
  • Guard force structure, supervision & audits
  • Control-room and patrol procedures
  • Security awareness training for site staff
  • Incident response & business continuity support
05

Security Risk & Threat Assessment

Every good security decision starts with an honest assessment. Many organisations either over-invest in visible measures that do little or under-invest in the unglamorous controls that matter most. A structured risk assessment identifies what is valuable, who might threaten it, how likely and how damaging different scenarios would be, and which measures give the greatest reduction in risk for the money spent.

Our assessments combine on-site inspection, open-source research, interviews and scenario analysis. The output is a clear, prioritised plan — not a thick report that sits on a shelf. For travelling executives and project teams, we also provide country and city risk briefings before departure.

What we deliver

  • Enterprise and site security risk assessments
  • Travel risk briefings & journey management
  • Residential and family security reviews
  • Open-source threat monitoring for principals
  • Prioritised mitigation roadmaps
06

Crisis Response & Evacuation Planning

Crises rarely announce themselves. Civil unrest, natural disasters, political instability, medical epidemics and security incidents can escalate in hours. Organisations with staff in affected areas need to know exactly where their people are, how to communicate with them and how to move them to safety — before commercial options disappear.

We help organisations build crisis management plans, train crisis teams through realistic tabletop exercises and prepare evacuation plans with trigger points, routes, safe havens and communication trees. When a situation develops, our specialists support decision-making and coordinate with local authorities, embassies and assistance providers.

What we deliver

  • Crisis management plans & team training
  • Evacuation and shelter-in-place planning
  • Tabletop and live crisis exercises
  • Staff tracking and communication protocols
  • On-call crisis advisory support
07

Event & Venue Security

Conferences, product launches, weddings, sporting fixtures and concerts concentrate people, VIPs and valuables in a single place for a short time. Crowd dynamics, access control, medical response and coordination with police become critical. Our event specialists bring military-grade planning to civilian gatherings — without making guests feel they are in a military zone.

We produce event security plans, manage accreditation and access, supervise security teams, integrate close protection for VIP guests and run the event control room, working hand in hand with organisers, venue management and local authorities.

What we deliver

  • Event security & crowd management plans
  • Accreditation and access control
  • VIP arrival and movement management
  • Event control room supervision
08

Hostile-Environment Awareness Training (HEAT)

Journalists, aid workers, engineers and executives increasingly travel to regions affected by conflict, crime or instability. Hostile-environment awareness training prepares them to recognise danger, avoid it and respond sensibly if something goes wrong. It is widely regarded as a core duty-of-care measure by responsible employers.

Our HEAT courses cover personal security planning, vehicle and checkpoint procedures, kidnap awareness, trauma first aid, communications and stress management, delivered through classroom sessions and realistic practical scenarios by instructors with genuine operational experience.

What we deliver

  • Two- to five-day HEAT programmes
  • Trauma first aid & casualty care
  • Checkpoint, vehicle & journey procedures
  • Kidnap and detention awareness

Inside a Protective Detail

The anatomy of a close-protection assignment

Clients usually see only the officer who opens the car door. Behind that moment sits a structured operation. A professional detail is built from a set of interlocking functions, each with a named owner and a written procedure. The size of the team changes with the threat level — from a single officer to a full team with residential and advance elements — but the functions remain the same.

This structure is why ex-special-forces personnel excel in protection. Garud operators were trained to work in small teams where every member understands both their own role and everyone else's, so that the team keeps functioning when conditions change without warning.

Lawful-Force Policy

Armed or unarmed? The law decides — not us

Clients sometimes assume that hiring former commandos means hiring armed guards. In reality, the overwhelming majority of our assignments are unarmed. Most protective work depends on planning, awareness, positioning and communication — skills that do not require a weapon.

Where an armed capability is genuinely required, it is provided only where the law of the country expressly permits it, only by personnel who hold the required local licences, and typically through licensed local security companies. In India, private security agencies operate under the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005, and arms are governed separately by the Arms Act, 1959. Other countries apply their own, often stricter, frameworks.

Every specialist is trained in a use-of-force continuum that begins with presence and verbal de-escalation, and every use of force must be necessary, proportionate and reported. We would rather decline an assignment than compromise these principles. Read how we align with international standards on the Global Operations page.
